Contents

Electrical work is a trust purchase. Customers are letting you into their home and their switchboard, so your website has to show you're licensed, local and good at what you do, fast. Here's what to put on each page.

Key takeaways
  • Show your licence number and safety credentials on every page.
  • Give high-value services like switchboards, solar, batteries and EV chargers their own pages.
  • Use real photos of your work and your Google reviews to build trust.
  • Make calling and requesting a quote easy, and reply fast.

Home page: answer "can they help me?" in seconds

Your home page should say what you do, where you work and how to get in touch, before anyone scrolls:

  • A clear headline: "Licensed electricians in Adelaide's north. Same-week switchboard upgrades."
  • A call button and a quote button in the header.
  • Your licence number where people can see it.
  • Your Google rating and a short line on response time.

Service pages: one per job you want more of

Electrical work covers a lot of ground, and customers search for specific jobs. Give your main services their own pages, each with what's involved, rough pricing, how long it takes and photos of real installs.

  • Switchboard upgrades and safety switches
  • Solar and battery installs
  • EV charger installation
  • Lighting, power points and rewiring
  • Safety inspections and smoke alarms
  • Emergency electrical repairs
each main service gets its own page, so customers find exactly what they searched for.

EV chargers, batteries and switchboard upgrades are high-value jobs with growing search demand. A detailed page for each is one of the best investments you can make in your website.

Licence number and credentials

In South Australia, electrical contractors must include their licence number in any advertising to the public, and that includes websites. Put it in your header or footer and on your quote form.

Add other credentials customers recognise, such as solar accreditation or industry memberships, but only ones you actually hold.

Check the rules for your state

SA requires your contractor licence number on websites, vehicles and business cards. Other states have their own rules, so check with your licensing body.

About page: show the people

Customers want to know who's coming to their house. A short about page with real photos of you and your team, how long you've been working and the areas you cover does more than any slogan.

Reviews and job photos

Show your Google rating near the top of the home page and on every service page. Add photos of finished switchboards, neat cable runs and installed EV chargers. Electricians who show tidy work stand out. Want more reviews? Read how to get more Google reviews.

Quote form and fast replies

Many electrical jobs start with a quote: a switchboard upgrade, a battery, an EV charger. Keep the form short and let customers attach a photo of their switchboard or meter box.

Then reply quickly. Customers usually ask two or three electricians, and the first clear reply often wins. Your website can send every enquiry to your phone instantly and send the customer an automatic reply so they know you'll be in touch.
