Website design for pest control businesses: be the first call

What a pest control website needs: a page for each pest, termite inspections explained, your licence, safety information for families and pets, and fast replies.

Website design for pest control businesses: be the first call
Contents

Nobody plans to call a pest controller. They spot termite damage, hear something in the roof or find cockroaches in the kitchen, and they want it sorted now. A pest control website has to calm them down, show you're licensed and safe, and get them booked before they call the next business on the list.

Key takeaways
  • Give each pest its own page: termites, cockroaches, rodents, spiders, ants and more.
  • Explain termite and pre-purchase inspections clearly, because they're high-value work.
  • Show your licence and answer the safety question for children and pets upfront.
  • Make it quick to call, book or request a quote, and reply fast.

Home page: urgent help and trust

People land on your site worried. Answer their first questions straight away:

  • What you treat and where: "Termite and general pest control across Adelaide's eastern suburbs."
  • A call button and a "Book a treatment" button in the header.
  • Your licence and how long you've been in business.
  • A short safety line: whether treatments are suitable for homes with children and pets, and what customers need to do.

A page for each pest

People search for the pest they've found, not "pest control services". A page for each one helps you show up for those searches and tells the customer exactly what happens next:

a page for each pest, so customers find the treatment for what they've found.
Simplified example: a page for each pest, so customers find the treatment for what they've found.
  • Termites: inspections, treatment and ongoing protection
  • Cockroaches
  • Rodents: rats and mice
  • Spiders
  • Ants
  • Bees and wasps
  • Fleas, bed bugs and other specialist treatments, if you offer them

For each pest, explain the signs to look for, how you treat it, how long the treatment lasts and any preparation the customer needs to do. Add a starting price for common treatments if you can.

Termite and pre-purchase inspections

Termite work is often the most valuable part of a pest control business, and customers know very little about it. A clear page earns trust and better enquiries:

  • What a timber pest inspection involves and how long it takes
  • What the report includes. Pre-purchase timber pest inspections are commonly carried out to Australian Standard AS 4349.3
  • The difference between an inspection, a treatment and an ongoing termite management system
  • Turnaround times for reports, which matter a lot to buyers working to a settlement date

Licences, safety and guarantees

Customers are letting you into their home and using chemicals around their family. Address that directly:

  • Your licence: pest controllers must be licensed. In South Australia, licences are issued through SA Health. Show your licence number in the footer and on your booking form.
  • Safety: explain which treatments are suitable around children and pets, and how long people need to stay out of treated areas.
  • Warranties: explain any treatment warranty or re-service guarantee clearly, including the conditions. Only offer what you'll honour.

Booking and fast replies

Many pest enquiries are urgent, and customers often contact two or three businesses at once. Keep your booking or quote form short:

  • What pest they've found, and where
  • Suburb and type of property
  • A photo, if they can take one
  • How soon they need someone

Then reply quickly. Make sure every enquiry goes straight to your phone and the customer gets an instant reply so they know you're on it. Read why the fastest reply wins the job.

For general treatments with set prices, online booking lets customers pick a time without a phone call. See our guide to online booking systems for small businesses.
